Ligaments exist in the neck, chest, pelvis, wrist, knee and ankle, and whenever you get a sprain or strain in any of these areas, it is usually a ligament which is damaged and causing the pain. Different types of accidents will result in different ligament injuries. For example, if you are involved in a road traffic accident, you might sustain whiplash, or a work related injury could cause an anterior cruciate ligament injury of the knee.

Josh Tudela was waived by the Los Angeles Galaxy in early July 2009 to make room for Alecko Eskandarian that is why he is not listed on the roster (he is no longer on the team).

I'm beginning to think that Donovan isn't looking to become the best possible player and play in the best possible league. As an American, I would love to say MLS is one of the top leagues in the world, but it's just not and he has to know that. Maybe he's just wanting to stay at home and play instead of flying all around the world to try and take himself to the top.

I'll tell you exactly what went wrong: Donovan missed his PK! If he had been as reliable as he was every other time he took a penalty this season, we wouldn't be having this conversation to begin with!

Really? You think Becks can have an impact at South Africa? I know he's made a habit of proving people wrong, but we aren't talking about MLS but the best players in the universe..

Beckham has always made a habit of proving people wrong. He has done it time and time again for England (don't rule out him playing a huge part in next year's World Cup) and he will keep doing it in America when people doubt him.

Wow! What a huge dissappointment that game was.. It's a shame because I thought we were looking pretty good out there, making shots, creating opportunity....Especially If you consider we are down to our 3rd goalie and all the new faces out there, like promising Padilla but they haven't really learned eachothers styles yet!! I am not giving up hope for MY Chivas yet.. I know they have slipped down on the charts but they are a few games behind the other guys! We just need to get it together and QUICK!

Beckham netted a lot of world wide attention to American Soccer! That's a good thing no matter how you look at it! Press is press whether it's good or bad and whether you love him or hate him everyone knows Beckham! I personally have a little less respect for the man after leaving the Galaxy high & dry like that! What did he need with another 10 million dollars??!?!?! Hopefully he'll come back (without sustaining any injuries) so The Galaxy , The MLS and all the fans will get their money's worth!

I voted that I would not "boo" Beckham - not that I don't think he deserves to be bood, it's just that I don't believe in booing! I think booing is rude (even if the subject might deserve it). I recall a game at the LA Coliseum where Galaxy was SUPPOSED to be the home team vs Chivas Guadalajara yet there were what seemed to be a 10:2 Chivas fan ratio! The booing was so intense that it took away from my enjoyment of the event. For a moment, I ALMOST felt like I should go trade in my Chivas Jersey for Galaxy just so they would have more fans there. (Thank god that moment passed). At that game I was in the front row close enough to see the grass on Beckham's shoes - There was a couple next to us that had all kinds of Beckham and Galaxy jeresys hoping for an autograph...Needless to say Beckham didn't even glance at us once during the whole game as he was seated on the bench!

Was anyone able confirm to the rumor from this summer that Ruiz had some knee problems that LA knew about at the time of the trade? This was floating around awhile ago back when LA traded for Ruiz.

TJ, great recap...thanks for it. Looks like Gullit really has his work cut out for him. Galaxy seemed pretty unstable mentally as they were rattled early and never recovered. I look forward to your coverage this year.
